Classic diner with vinyl booths attached to a motel in the south-end of Nanaimo. I would have preferred a little acid, like lemon zest. Tucked away a little ways from main downtown, Alice can surely be easily dismissed, however I truly believe this gem will become a staple for finer dining in Pensacola. Last week my wife and I celebrated my birthday at Alice's Restaurant, and I am delighted to state that the experience was exceptional. The sausage patties were perfectly seasoned and delicious and the eggs, which I had scrambled, were good. I'm a little sad to say that the omelets are so good, I havent had anything else, and we've been coming here for quite some time!

I was not paying for theirs and was not paying attention to them or their server that was doing a good job Lobster thermadore that is not worth the $$ and cold . Woohoo! This entree was also served with amazingly chunky mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus.Could not leave without dessert, which I'm glad we didn't.

In fact, it met and exceeded my expectations. We were a little early for our 7:30 reservation, but the hostess sat us right away with no problem. Comment from Elizabeth P. of Alice's Restaurant. Everything down to the after dinner coffee was just absolutely perfect. Next time I will make sure someone in my party is willing to split the tableside Greek salad for two! Prices very reasonable. Kathy the owner and server always cheers you up and her husband who is the cook is just as pleasant. The bartender (Clyde) was very attentive and you can tell he takes great pride in his craft! The sea scallops were sweet and cooked to delicate perfection; and the butternut purée just heightened the sweetness and smoothness of the scallops. It just isn't what it used to be.I don't think I'll be going but next time I am over visiting. We also shared the veal Oscar, which was great but surprisingly my favorite thing on the plate was a roasted carrot purée. We were given menus and ordered drinks. Oh you want over easy? He provided pleasant conversation during this process and his creation was tasty and perfectly portioned. They also bring a warm loaf of bread to your table with the best butter I've ever tasted. Thank you Alice's. 11/21/2019Thank you Jordana!

I will say this is hands down some of the best ever bread pudding I've had.

Am I forever grateful I did! . From time to time I would venture to the lunch menu and have a burger, It would be pretty taste less but it would have fresh lettuce and tomato and pickles and all that. I do apologize for the wait on your entrée but greatly appreciate your understanding. From the outside, it looks run down. To start, we had the chargrilled Bloody Mary oysters (which are next level genius) and the sea scallops. We shared the cauliflower crab pizza starter. I mentioned to him I really miss fresh mojitos, a hard item to find around here. You will not find a place that makes PERFECT eggs... like perfect! See all photos from Jen L. for Alice's Restaurant. Honestly, Long John Silver can probably give you a better grouper meal.

Our waiter, was a slightly bit on the timid side, but opened up nicely towards the middle of our meal. Go a little early and pause in the large bar; prices are reasonable. Learn more. Unfortunately, the gumbo was slightly over salted, but the aftermath of the meal was perfection.No one should ever come here and not have the table side Cesar. The owner has tastefully divided the space into several rooms in addition to a private dining room of generous dimensions. I tried the spicy Margarita. I found out about the place through a local newspaper and decided to take my grandparents for Sunday breakfast. If this sounds like a great dining experience to you, then Alices will offer you a meal that is to die for. Louis was our waiter and he promptly visited us to inquire about our drink preferences. The only thing I am not a fan of here is their bacon.
I've eaten here a couple times, and its always been interesting, as it's about the only place in the casino to eat without being in the middle of the casino. Can't wait to go back. Yeah it may need and update on the place, but doesn't matter. It was such a pleasure to meet you & your family. We will certainly be back. Three appetizers because we couldn't resist. I had the steak au poivre and megan had the Tuna special of the evening. Alice's Restaurant is a small local place. The asparagus we were served should embarrass the chef that hand-selected and oversaw the preparation of this slimy and mushy hoax of cooked asparagus. A well lit, and private parking lot makes way for a very modernized, simple, but also elegant establishment. Both were outstanding but I dare to say the lamb may have been one of the best chops I've had around! The other cocktails were decent at best.The only appetizer we ordered was the scallops. Each entrée was served with a "Chef's Selection of a Starch and Vegetable," but we are seriously questioning the level of experience the chef had because three out of four meals received the exact poorly platted/flavorless sides.
