This is a story of a prince who falls in love with the low caste dancing girl Anarkali (played by Madhubala, the most beautiful Indian actress at that time) and is so determined to marry her against the wishes of his father, Akbar, that he actually stages a military revolt against the throne to make his point....ah true love versus tradition and caste.

This may be one of the greatest films ever made (or not), but it's impossible to take seriously when it has been cheaply colourised to resemble the kind of garish black light poster that was popular in certain sex shops in the 60s and 70s.
